Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Your new company This is a leading building services consultancy with a strong reputation across Scotland and the wider UK. Established in the 1990s, the business has grown steadily and now operates from offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, and London. In 2024, they were acquired by a major engineering group, strengthening their capability in low-carbon and sustainable design and providing significant investment for expansion across England and Wales. The organisation have recently moved into a modern space with capacity for 40+ workstations. Hybrid working is standard (typically 3 days in the office, 2 from home), and the company actively supports chartership, leadership training, and mentoring. Your new role You will join the electrical engineering team delivering a wide range of projects across education, healthcare, commercial, cultural, and residential sectors. Senior Electrical Engineer

Join a team of experienced engineers and designers providing innovative and sustainable solutions for a range of projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial in the UK and Internationally. They are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. As a Senior/Principal Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the Electrical design solutions for a range of building services projects, from initial concept through to final delivery.  You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the success of our exciting and challenging projects, while working with a dynamic and innovative team that makes a positive impact on the built environment. Responsibilities: Lead the electrical design on complex and large-scale projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial. Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging electrical design technologies and practices. Requirements: Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Minimum of 6  years' UK experience in electrical design engineering within the building services industry. ideally Chartered Engineer status. Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice. Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit. Experience in using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, or equivalent. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead and manage a team. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
