The Opportunity Due to growth, they're now looking for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their design & engineering team. You'll be mentored by a Chartered Electrical Associate and supported through two weekly technical development sessions. This is an ideal role for someone with around a year of experience looking to sharpen their design skills in a fully remote, forward-thinking team. What You'll Be Doing You'll support the design and coordination of electrical systems across a variety of building projects. Typical responsibilities include: Lighting Design - Layouts, calculations, specs, and energy compliance Small Power Distribution - Socket layouts, DB schedules, coordination Fire Alarm Systems - Zoning, schematics, supplier coordination CCTV & Security Systems - Camera layouts, coverage, consultant coordination Emergency Lighting - Designs to BS 5266 and other relevant standards Load Calculations & Cable Sizing - Electrical assessments, cable sizing MEP Coordination - Working with mechanical and PH teams, clash detection in BIM/Revit Technical Documentation - Drawings, specs, reports, tender packs Regulatory Compliance - BS7671, CIBSE guides, Part L Project Support - Attending meetings (virtually or in-person where needed) Essential Requirements Must be a resident of the UK Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering Minimum of two years' experience in electrical design, within building services consultancy or multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy Knowledge of UK electrical regulations and standards Familiarity with tools like AutoCAD/Revit and Amtech or Electrical OM. Senior Fabric Estimator
My client are a Building Services & Specialist Contractor who have been established in 2003 who have 8 Offices throughout the UK. As a business, they employ 300+ Staff Nationally and are expected to Turnover £55Mil+ this year. Working within the Commercial & Public Sectors, their sites are generally within London, Surrey, Kent & Sussex. The London Office is currently 15 strong, made up of 3 Admins along with Contract Managers & Project Managers. Due to growth of business, they are now seeking a Senior Estimator to join their London office. THE JOB – SENIOR ESTIMATOR (FABRIC WORKS) Monday – Friday / 8am - 4pm You will producing tenders in Construction and Fabric Projects up to a value of £3,000,000. Core Duties Tendering & Cost Estimation Prepare detailed cost estimates for building fabric works (e.g., roofing, masonry, carpentry, plastering, painting, flooring, partitions, ceilings). Assess drawings, specifications, and site surveys to determine material, labor, and equipment needs. Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQ) or schedules of rates. Produce cost plans, budgets, and value-engineered options. Bid Management Review invitations to tender (ITTs), RFQs, and PQQs to ensure compliance. Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals. Liaise with supply chain partners for quotations and rates. Identify commercial risks and mitigation measures within bids. Technical & Commercial Analysis Carry out site inspections and feasibility studies. Evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotations for accuracy and compliance. Ensure all costs reflect current market conditions, building codes, and best practices. Support cost modelling for reactive and planned maintenance projects. Collaboration & Liaison Work closely with project managers, contracts managers, surveyors, and procurement teams. Provide pre- and post-contract support, including clarification of estimates. Engage with clients and consultants to explain cost breakdowns. Risk & Compliance Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies. Ensure estimates comply with health & safety regulations, sustainability goals, and statutory requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, building regulations, and industry standards. Leadership & Mentoring Guide junior estimators and assist in their professional development. Establish best practices in estimating, cost tracking, and bid submissions. Lead estimating efforts for high-value or complex fabric service projects. Typical Outputs Cost estimates and tender submissions. Budget forecasts for planned and reactive fabric maintenance. Risk registers and commercial assumptions. Supplier and subcontractor cost analysis reports. Value-engineering proposals.
