Your new role As a key member of the management team, you will lead a dedicated group of officers delivering high-quality housing advice and homelessness prevention services. You will be responsible for ensuring statutory duties under the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 are met, while supporting vulnerable individuals and families across the region. This is a pivotal role where you will: - Supervise and support a team of five full-time Housing Officers, each managing approximately 40 cases. - Monitor operational quality assurance standards and ensure compliance with legislation and company policy. - Lead on complex case assessments, statutory reviews, and responses to public and elected member enquiries. - Work closely with internal departments and external partners to deliver holistic housing solutions. - Contribute to service development and performance improvement initiatives. You will have the option of Hybrid Working with a minimum of 2 days in the office. The salary is £39,500 - £42,700 per annum depending on experience. What you'll need to succeed - A degree-level qualification or equivalent (e.g. NVQ Level 4) or significant relevant experience.- Proven experience in frontline housing advice or homelessness services. - Strong knowledge of housing legislation and statutory duties, including safeguarding and equalities. - Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team in a high-pressure environment. - Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills. - Experience working collaboratively with partner agencies to resolve complex housing issues. Head of Housing Assets - Oxford City Council

Your new role You will lead the strategic management of the housing revenue account assets, ensuring effective maintenance, compliance, and enhancement of housing stock. This role involves developing and implementing asset management strategies, managing budgets, and adherence to relevant regulations and standards. Strategic Leadership - you will develop and implement the asset management strategy for HRA housing stock, ensuring that this strategy aligns with economic, environmental, and service quality objectives. Data Management - you will oversee the collection and management of stock condition data, ensuring data accuracy and regular updates to inform decision-making. Budget Management - you will manage the HRA budget, including both capital and revenue expenditure. Compliance and Safety - You will deliver compliance with social housing regulation 2023 and other relevant legislation. Procurement - You will lead the procurement of strategic service contracts and frameworks, managing relationships with contractors and consultants. Stakeholder Engagement - You will engage with residents, stakeholders, and members to ensure that the strategy meets their needs and expectations. Team Management - Over time, you will be involved in the leadership and development of an asset management team, ensuring that they are well trained, and motivated. What you'll need to succeed Chartered member of RICS or an equivalent professional body. Proven experience in asset management within social housing, and ideally local government. Experience in developing and implementing asset management strategies. Strong background in budget management and financial planning. Knowledge of compliance and safety standards in housing. Excellent data management skills. Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to manage complex programmes of work and projects, and to drive change. Experience and evidence of successful collaboration and partnership working with contractors and stakeholders.
