Their Building Services team require an Electrical Engineer to take responsibility for the electrical services and the overall coordination of all services of a wide variety of projects. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary design team for several clients covering a range of activities from project feasibility through to detailed design and construction support. This exciting role will involve leading teams working on demanding large-scale projects both in the UK and potentially overseas. Working closely with clients, architects and other members of the professional team you will take an active role in establishing the brief, leading the design and developing potential solutions in order to assist in delivering high quality projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. Experience and Qualifications required An electrical engineering degree. Proven track record of delivering projects within set time frames. Experience of software’s including Amtech and Dialux/Relux. Lead Comissioning Manager
Our client is Building Services consultancy providing single source solutions to the construction industry, property owners and property managers. They provide solutions on all aspects of Building Services Commissioning and Client Verification and have been at the forefront of Commissioning Management for over 35 years. As a result of growth they are looking for a Lead Commissioning Manager to join the team. Intermediate Electrical Engineer
The Company: The Company was founded in 1983 in South Africa. The company is very strong in leisure, education, commercial, retail and residential sectors of the market. The Company employs circa 20 employees, and although a relatively small Company punches well above its weight in terms of projects undertaken. Project values have varied from £4million to £200million in terms of construction value. They have won national and international awards for some of its projects and has established itself as a leader in low carbon and renewable technologies and low energy buildings. The type of work is varied; for instance they have written the technical guidance for Sport England wet and dry sports centres and partnered with a number of local authorities and main contractors. The design work varies from developing concept designs to Stage 3 for planning purposes to fully detailed design, contract and construction drawings. The candidate will report directly to the Director. The candidate joins the company in the midst of exciting times, with a strong order book and growth opportunities. The candidate will be given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills and ultimately manage their own projects, which will include managing a team of engineers, building physicist and technicians. Qualifications and experience: British citizen or in possession of the right to work in the UK Degree qualified in electrical engineering From 2 years’ experience to senior engineer working as electrical (building services) design engineer (preferably in in the UK) Good design skills Preferential but not essential experience: Working knowledge of wiring regulations BS 7671 Working knowledge of relevant British Standards Experience in Education, leisure, residential, and mixed use sectors Familiarity with BREEAM, and implications for M&E design Revit MEP Job Description: The engineer will be required to deal with projects predominantly in the South-East from concept/feasibility stage, through design and construction to commissioning and handover under the guidance of a director. Senior staff drive projects from feasibility through to delivery across a diverse range of sectors from data centres and retail outlets, to care homes, schools and offices. The Role: Providing design and technical advice on projects for the respective discipline. Provide a professional and technical consulting and design service to the client encompassing of, but not limited to, site surveys, meetings, feasibility studies, due diligence, design, technical reports and specifications, commissioning, and defects inspections. Assist with multiple projects in a co-ordinated manner, meeting project deadlines and cost requirements. Work under the clear direction of others and interpret the needs of a project where applicable, take a discipline lead role on smaller projects as required. Work in co-ordination with all other design team members, internal and external and provide excellent client care and reporting throughout the whole project life cycle. Understand the project appointment and scope of work following a briefing and be aware of any limitations of the duties on different projects. Have an understanding of project costs and the impact of designs and recommendations on the overall budget for the scheme and monitor time against these costs. Take ownership of your workload to meet agreed timescales and deliverables. Attend meetings as required to represent the discipline and be able to convey other disciplines on behalf of the Company.
