Electrical Design Engineer
Your new company A well established local building services consultancy seeks to appoint an Electrical Design Engineer to their team (but also looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer). Established over 50 years ago they have developed strong client relationships including; university's and hospitals in particular. In this they develop exciting projects including helping their clients towards decarbonisation. Your new role You will be working as a Electrical Design Engineer, overseeing both the mechanical and electrical aspects. Within in this role your duties will be various including; design calculations, site visits, surveying existing installations, preparing specifications and drawings for tender. What you'll need to succeed You will need to be working in the building services industry as a design engineer or aspiring towards this in a role such as an electrician either having a background in Mechanical or Electrical or both. In this you will either need to have suitable qualifications such as a HNC or considerable experience. What you'll get in return £28,000 - £45,000 (DOE), Career development, Encouragement of professional membership and chartership, including fees. Senior Electrical Engineer
Client: This organisation provides creative, sustainable and energy efficient design solutions from concept through to delivery for national contractors, end users and developers. They have an impressive portfolio of MEP schemes (up to £80m) and are growing from strength to strength in a sector dominating the Engineering industry. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Design engineer to join their expanding team to help deliver some of the outstanding buildings and projects that they work on including schemes across the education, high rise residential, large-scale commercial, stadia, and healthcare sectors. While a solid technical understanding of Electrical Building Services is required, they are looking for an individual with the ability to think laterally and apply learning and experience to new challenges. It's also vitally important every member of the team shares their values which embodies their approach to project delivery. Role: The purpose of this role is to provide the Electrical Design and Technical expertise in supporting project delivery. Working closely with the Project team, Project Leader and wider Design Team whilst contributing to consistency in delivery and technical knowledge. Representing the company (both internally and externally) by maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Project Delivery Ensuring consistent production of well-considered technical solutions. Working collaboratively through clear communication with all members of the internal and external Project Team to ensure the successful delivery for all. Inputting to and following the QA process to maintain the quality of all project deliverables in terms of both presentation and technical accuracy. Working alongside the Project Leader/Senior Engineers to establish timescales and resource requirements. Project Leadership Leading by example in terms of attitude and commitment. Providing support and leadership to Junior/Trainee Engineers. Leading the development of the design aspects within your control to achieve the desired outcomes in the most efficient manner. Consistent application of the latest learning and development initiatives and opportunities as identified through the development process. Technical Standards Carrying out design calculations and providing technical input to ensure solutions are correctly implemented. Creating drawings, reports and specifications that clearly demonstrate the requirements of the system/project to communicate information appropriately. Striving to develop knowledge and understand of all aspects of building services design to provide a greater depth of expertise. Utilising digital delivery resource in ensuring consistency in quality of delivered material whilst meeting project deadlines. Recording and imparting knowledge and lessons learnt to the wider team for the benefit of all. Utilise technical excellence and latest industry thinking within project delivery. Ensuring the project QA process is adhered to and utilised by default. M&E BIM Coordinator
Your new company We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in the UK and Ireland's Building Services sector. This company specialises in innovative, sustainable, and offsite-prefabricated energy solutions, delivering projects across the UK and Europe. They offer turnkey design, build, and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large-scale district heating systems. Their BIM team ensures accurate, coordinated, and data-rich models that drive efficiency and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Your new role As a BIM Coordinator based in Birmingham, you'll develop and manage fully coordinated MEP models using Revit and Navisworks. You'll lead model coordination workshops, manage the Common Data Environment (CDE), and work closely with prefabrication teams to produce fabrication-ready models and detailed construction drawings. You'll validate installations during construction and produce accurate as-installed models for commissioning and handover. A key part of your role will involve supporting sustainability goals by using BIM data to track embodied carbon and energy strategies. What you'll need to succeed Strong proficiency in Revit MEP and experience with Navisworks Manage for clash detection and coordination. Ability to interpret MEP schematics, layouts, and fabrication drawings. Proven experience as a BIM Coordinator within the MEP sector, ideally across all project stages. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Self-motivated and capable of working independently.Desirable: Experience preparing fabrication-level models and drawings for offsite manufacturing.
