Senior Electrical Engineer
Client: This organisation provides creative, sustainable and energy efficient design solutions from concept through to delivery for national contractors, end users and developers. They have an impressive portfolio of MEP schemes (up to £80m) and are growing from strength to strength in a sector dominating the Engineering industry. They are seeking a Senior Electrical Design engineer to join their expanding team to help deliver some of the outstanding buildings and projects that they work on including schemes across the education, high rise residential, large-scale commercial, stadia, and healthcare sectors. While a solid technical understanding of Electrical Building Services is required, they are looking for an individual with the ability to think laterally and apply learning and experience to new challenges. Role: The purpose of this role is to provide the Electrical Design and Technical expertise in supporting project delivery. Working closely with the Project team, Project Leader and wider Design Team whilst contributing to consistency in delivery and technical knowledge. Representing the company (both internally and externally) by maintaining the highest standards of technical excellence, professionalism, and enthusiasm. Project Delivery Ensuring consistent production of well-considered technical solutions. Working collaboratively through clear communication with all members of the internal and external Project Team to ensure the successful delivery for all. Inputting to and following the QA process to maintain the quality of all project deliverables in terms of both presentation and technical accuracy. Working alongside the Project Leader/Senior Engineers to establish timescales and resource requirements. Project Leadership Leading by example in terms of attitude and commitment. Providing support and leadership to Junior/Trainee Engineers. Leading the development of the design aspects within your control to achieve the desired outcomes in the most efficient manner. Consistent application of the latest learning and development initiatives and opportunities as identified through the development process. Technical Standards Carrying out design calculations and providing technical input to ensure solutions are correctly implemented. Creating drawings, reports and specifications that clearly demonstrate the requirements of the system/project to communicate information appropriately. Striving to develop knowledge and understand of all aspects of building services design to provide a greater depth of expertise. Utilising digital delivery resource in ensuring consistency in quality of delivered material whilst meeting project deadlines. Recording and imparting knowledge and lessons learnt to the wider team for the benefit of all. Utilise technical excellence and latest industry thinking within project delivery. Ensuring the project QA process is adhered to and utilised by default. Mechanical Design Manager

Your new role This is a hands-on, influential position offering involvement throughout the full project lifecycle, from early design and development through prefabrication, manufacturing and onsite installation. With fewer concurrent projects than traditional consultancy roles, you'll have the scope to prioritise quality, innovation, and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities Review and analyse employer requirements and tender documents. Produce schematics, calculations, specifications, and plant schedules. Work collaboratively with the internal design team in person and via email. Lead weekly design team meetings, setting project targets and ensuring high‑quality delivery. Produce fabrication‑ready drawings using fabCAD software. Coordinate mechanical services within plant areas, ensuring excellent buildability and integration with other disciplines. Support specification compliance, material selections, and weld standards. Mentor, guide, and support junior engineers in their development. Conduct site surveys and review installations (typically 1-2 days per month). Work closely with the Production team to align design output with workshop requirements. Support processes for recording design output data and understanding design-time costings. What you'll need to succeed Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent HND. Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior mechanical design role Background in the commercial and industrial M&E sector. Organised, structured approach to workload. Strong IT proficiency, especially in Microsoft Excel. Analytical and detail‑focused, with excellent problem‑solving abilities. Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions. Building Services Quantity Surveyor
Your new company We are recruiting on behalf of a tier‑one infrastructure delivery organisation working on one of the UK's most significant rail and civil engineering programmes. As part of this long‑term venture, they are constructing a series of pumping stations and associated operational buildings that support the wider route.This organisation is known for delivering large, technically complex packages with high standards in safety, collaboration, and programme performance. You will join a commercially strong project team responsible for major M&E and building services packages within a highly impactful national scheme. Your new role As a Building Services Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of multimillion‑pound mechanical and electrical (MEP) packages relating to pumping stations and building services. Your role will include: Reporting into a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager across your section of works Supporting commercial delivery with strong knowledge of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes Administering NEC3 contracts, including early warnings & compensation events Preparing subcontract invitations to tender, evaluating returns and making recommendations for appointment Managing subcontractor packages, valuations, liabilities and payment notices Assisting with budgets, forecasts, CVRs and commercial reporting alongside senior commercial colleagues Working closely with delivery teams to develop solutions and maintain strong client and subcontractor relationships Although site‑based in nature, the wider team operates flexibly with a hybrid working approach where appropriate.
