We are looking for an experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead and deliver innovative building services projects across a range of sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial, and public sector developments. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of electrical design projects from concept through to completion. Lead and mentor a team of engineers, ensuring high-quality design output and technical excellence. Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver fully integrated solutions. Engage with clients on technical and commercial matters, building strong relationships. Contribute to business development and support senior leadership in resource planning. Produce detailed electrical designs using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and calculation tools. Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, legislation, and best practice, including energy efficiency and low-carbon requirements. What We're Looking For Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it). Minimum 10 years' experience in building services design, ideally within consultancy. Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and associated regulations. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver on time and within budget. Desirable: Experience in healthcare projects and knowledge of HTMs and HBNs. Membership of professional bodies such as CIBSE or IET. Familiarity with sustainability and net-zero design principles. Your new role We are seeking an experienced Electrical Services Manager to lead the management and maintenance of electrical systems and infrastructure across a large, complex estate. This is a senior technical leadership role with responsibility for ensuring compliance, safety, and operational excellence.You will oversee planned and reactive maintenance, manage external service providers, and act as the subject-matter expert for electrical services. The role involves strategic planning, budget management, and driving continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with all statutory and health and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the electrical maintenance team, promoting a culture of professionalism and continuous improvement. Manage statutory inspection and maintenance regimes for electrical and life safety systems, including HV/LV networks, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and generators. Oversee external maintenance contracts, ensuring value for money and high-quality service delivery. Provide technical advice on compliance, legislation, and best practice. Contribute to long-term maintenance strategies and budget planning. Act as Authorised Person for HV/LV systems and ensure safe systems of work for all electrical activities. What you'll need to succeed Degree-level qualification in electrical engineering or equivalent experience. Authorised Person training for HV/LV distribution systems. Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure, statutory compliance, and health & safety legislation. Experience managing maintenance strategies, budgets, and external contractors.
