I am looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of innovative building services solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an opportunity to take ownership of electrical design from concept to completion, mentor junior engineers, and play a key role in shaping sustainable, high-performance environments. Key Responsibilities Lead electrical design for building services projects across commercial, healthcare, education, and residential sectors. Produce detailed specifications, drawings, and calculations using industry-standard tools (e.g., Amtech, Revit, AutoCAD). Ensure compliance with UK regulations, client requirements, and best practice standards. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships effectively. Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers and graduates. Contribute to energy efficiency and low-carbon strategies within project designs. Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering. Minimum 6-8 years' experience in building services' consultancy. Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards) with IET or CIBSE. Strong technical knowledge of LV/HV systems, lighting design, and sustainable technologies. Your New Company Hays Building Services are pleased to be assisting a consultancy in Bristol in the recruitment of a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their busy team. Your New Role You will work across multiple sectors, including residential, commercial, education, healthcare, transportation, defence, and energy, designing all Electrical Building Services systems such as power, lighting, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc. You will carry out detailed calculations using industry-standard software, prepare technical specifications, collaborate with the BIM team as well as conduct site surveys, inspections and monitor site works.
