You will design across all RIBA stages 1-7, ranging from feasibility studies to full detailed design, working across a broad range of sectors within the private and public fields. With a 20 strong M&E team the business traditionally focused on all aspects of M&E Surveying, but over recent years they have invested growth into their M&E Design, Project Management and Decarbonisation service offering. As a global Building Consultancy, the main differential from the traditional design consultancies is that they have access to their own client base and do not have to competitively tender for projects, resulting in a less pressurised environment and providing the financial resources to recruit into the M&E team when needed rather than expecting employees to shoulder more pressure and work excessive hours. Essentially, a client-side role that will give you direct access to clients, working on the client’s behalf as part of the client team as the client’s representative. Candidate Requirements The successful candidate will lead energy efficient design, develop our procedures, research, and inspire. The successful candidate will; Undertake and have experience running IES and IES HVAC simulation based energy modelling to predict building performance. Support key design decisions, through modelling assessment, by predicting air movement, thermal performance, control of moisture, ambient energy, climate, comfort and light. Be experienced in analysing the results of simulation models. Be able to inform design decisions at each design stage through predictive parametric modelling, maximising opportunities for comfort and sustainability and minimising building design risks related to energy usage and carbon output. Be able to work independently and as part of the wider team, seek options to continual improve our approach and process, and be motivated to self-learn and engage both as part of a team and your own initiative.
