Damp and Mould Surveyor
Location: OxfordRate: £300 - £350 a day Title: Damp and Mould Surveyor Job Purpose:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Damp and Mould Building Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing issues related to damp, mould, and condensation in residential and commercial properties. This role is critical in ensuring the health, safety, and comfort of occupants, as well as maintaining the integrity of the building fabric. Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed inspections and surveys of properties to diagnose causes of damp, mould, and condensation. Prepare comprehensive reports with findings, photographic evidence, and recommendations for remedial action. Advise on appropriate treatment methods and oversee the implementation of remedial works. Liaise with tenants, landlords, contractors, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and resolution of issues. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatments and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain accurate records and ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation and best practice. Provide expert advice and training to colleagues and stakeholders on damp and mould prevention and management. Support disrepair claims and legal proceedings with technical evidence and expert witness reports when required. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven experience in building surveying with a strong focus on damp and mould diagnostics. In-depth knowledge of building pathology, moisture ingress, ventilation systems, and remedial treatments. Excellent report writing and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload. Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). Proficient in using surveying tools and software. Qualifications: Knowledge of Building Pathology Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable. Valid UK driving licence (if site visits are required). Desirable Attributes: Experience working in social housing or local authority environments. Awareness of the impact of damp and mould on vulnerable tenants and a commitment to safeguarding. Knowledge of energy efficiency and retrofit measures. What to do next. THE COMPANY My client are a M&E Contractor who are based in Essex. Since their conception in 2016, they now employ over 50 people in the business and turnover over £7million. They specialise in live environment projects which include Medical, Offices and banks across London. Project values generally fall between £250k - £500k. They are seeking an Electrical Project Manager (with mechanical and fabric knowledge) to join the team on a Temporary basis and can offer work up until the end of January 2026. Looking to start early October. THE JOB – ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER Monday – Friday / 7am – 4pm The Electrical Project Manager will be Site & Office Based, reporting to a Senior Project Manager and will have a Site Manager beneath them. The sites will all be within live environment and you will be running multiple projects at one time within the £250k - £500k value range. You will be responsible for Project Delivery from start to completion and will be running up to 2 projects at any one time. Experience in the above is essential. Mechanical Estimator - SE London
My client are an MEP Contractor who are based in Southeast London and have a company turnover of around £3mil. They specialise in Residential New Builds & Commercial Refurbishment Projects in the region of £50k - £17mil across London & The Home Counties. Due to growth they are seeking a Mechanical Estimator to join the team. THE ROLE – MECHANICAL ESTIMATOR Monday – Friday / 8am-5pm. You will be office based in Southeast London, producing tenders for Mechanical projects up to a value of £17mil. Duties: Tendering & Cost Estimation Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical works Assess drawings, specifications, and site surveys to determine material, labour, and equipment needs. Develop Bills of Quantities (BoQ) or schedules of rates. Produce cost plans, budgets, and value-engineered options. Bid Management Review invitations to tender (ITTs), RFQs, and PQQs to ensure compliance. Prepare and submit competitive tender proposals. Liaise with supply chain partners for quotations and rates. Identify commercial risks and mitigation measures within bids. Technical & Commercial Analysis Carry out site inspections and feasibility studies. Evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotations for accuracy and compliance. Ensure all costs reflect current market conditions, building codes, and best practices. Support cost modelling for reactive and planned maintenance projects. Collaboration & Liaison Work closely with project managers, contracts managers, surveyors, and procurement teams. Provide pre- and post-contract support, including clarification of estimates. Engage with clients and consultants to explain cost breakdowns. Risk & Compliance Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving strategies. Ensure estimates comply with health & safety regulations, sustainability goals, and statutory requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, building regulations, and industry standards. Leadership & Mentoring Guide junior estimators and assist in their professional development. Establish best practices in estimating, cost tracking, and bid submissions. Lead estimating efforts for high-value or complex fabric service projects. THE JOB – HVAC SERVICE MANAGER Monday – Friday / 9.00am – 5.30pm / 40 Hour Weeks. Duties in Role Leading the company’s service team under the guidance of Service Director and Operations Director Manage a team of 3 Service Coordinators and 10 Engineers Co-ordinate daily engineer activities: PPMs, remedial works and call-outs Technical support for engineers and coordinators Assist Service Coordinators with pricing of remedial works Managing F Gas compliance Maintaining & adhering to any client procedures Maintaining professional relationships with clients at all times.
