We are looking for an ambitious Senior or Principal Civil Engineer to lead the design and delivery of highway and drainage schemes for commercial, industrial, and residential developments. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and delivery of highway and drainage schemes . Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and specifications . Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams. Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and trainees. Ensure compliance with health & safety and quality management systems . Promote digital innovation, including BIM and emerging technologies. Support project management and resource allocation. Requirements Degree in Civil Engineering (or higher). Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil engineering, with strong drainage and highway design background. Proficiency in MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage and AutoCAD . Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team. Desirable Experience with S104, S38, S278 agreements . Chartered status ( CEng or IEng ) or working towards it. Familiarity with ISO standards and technical assurance processes. Experience in project management and mentoring teams. Senior CAD Technician – Civil / Infrastructure Design 📍 Sheffield | Hybrid Working | Permanent I’m working with a respected civil and structural engineering consultancy with offices across the UK, who are looking to add a Senior CAD Technician to their expanding Sheffield team . This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CAD professional to join a supportive and growing civil engineering design team, delivering residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across the region. The Role You’ll take ownership of producing and coordinating detailed 2D and 3D drawings for highways, drainage, and external works — working closely with engineers through all project stages. The role offers the chance to contribute to adoptable infrastructure design (S278, S38, S104) , mentor junior technicians, and help refine CAD standards and workflows across the business. What You’ll Need 5+ years’ experience as a CAD Technician in a civil or infrastructure design environment. Strong AutoCAD skills (essential); working knowledge of Civil 3D or similar advantageous. Understanding of Section 278, Section 38, and Section 104 design processes. Familiarity with SuDS, DMRB , and Sewers for Adoption .
