Your new role You will take the lead on all mechanical matters for the London team of 8 engineers and consultants. You will work across all projects, work closely with your clients, attend sites, supervise the work of junior engineers, and actively work on mechanical designs. You will also support the London office leadership by working closely with the office lead. You will have experience working across multiple project types and buildings, including some experience of heritage, cultural, or commercial projects. Senior / Principal Electrical Engineer
Your new company This practice have multiple offices across the UK and their London Office is growing rapidly due to new project wins. They work on a variety of construction and infrastructure projects working with prestigious clients both locally and internationally. Your new role You will be working as either a Senior or Principal Engineer in the London office helping to run some larger work currently being won. These projects are across multiple sectors so they are flexible on the background of the applicants coming through. Ideally you will be working with Revit and have a decent knowledge of BIM as well as working across offices with remote teams. Your new role To survey domestic properties and identify repairs, maintenance, and adaptation requirements in the homes of older, vulnerable, and disabled customers and advise upon appropriate remedial work and likely costs. To consult with customers and other parties regarding repairs, improvements and adaptations to their homes and prepare schedules of work and specifications, as required, taking into account their individual resources, needs and wishes and financial, legal, environmental/sustainability, building regulation and restoration matters. To obtain quotations for work, evaluate these quotations and advise the customer so that they may choose appropriate solutions to their needs. To monitor the work of contractors through to final completion, ensure that work is carried out to a high standard and that any defects are rectified to the customers' satisfaction. To liaise with Local Authority surveyors, building inspectors, independent surveyors, builders, tradespeople and establish good working relationships. To act as the project and contracts manager, planning and overseeing building work using the appropriate form of building contract. To give professional advice on factors affecting existing buildings such as building defects, alterations, renovations, and extensions, as well as on the design and construction. Working alongside local planning bodies, clients, construction workers and other professionals to ensure projects meet the relevant safety, sustainability, and preservation standards. To ensure that H&S requirements under CDM are complied with. What you'll need to succeed HND / HNC in construction or equivalent. Experience of successfully delivering domestic residential projects requiring building regulation, planning and other permissions and in accordance with CDM requirements. Skilled in diagnosis of building defects, preparation of schedules of remedial work and project management to completion. Mechanical Design Engineer
Your new company You will be part of a growing family-owned establishment in operation in over 25 years, focusing on Mechanical Contracting. They work on a range of projects but have a strong focus on office fit out. This is a hybrid role based in South Birmingham. Your new role Therefore this would suit someone either of their learning trajectory or someone who is a well established Mechanical Design Engineer. Your role will evolve to include: Create detailed designs for mechanical systems, including HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning), plumbing, and fire protection systems. Work closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive and efficient project execution. What you'll need to succeed You will need Building Services qualification or proven experience in a similar role.You will need to have a good level of computer literacy in Microsoft packages.
