Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer (Building Consultancy) - Bristol - to £40,000 + c.15% Annual Bonus + Package Leading independent Building Consultancy looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer due to continued growth. The Global Investment Forecast is reported to rise by 27% in 2026, making a sensible time to consider a move into a client-side, Building Consultancy practice. We are looking for a confident individual with a desire to move into a client-facing (both internally and externally) role and develop with the business to lead projects and drive delivery of their diverse MEP instructions. One of the remaining independent Building Consultants, they are a business not looking to make a quick buck, they are significantly profitable due to their broader service offering, resulting in a significant annual bonus of around 15% of your salary. An established business with a national network of offices across the UK. They have an existing M&E team in every UK office, with other locations being explored in line with continued expansion plans. 100% independent, not run by outside investors, zero debt and have cultivated financial growth every year since inception with a dynamic and growing team. The broader nature of the M&E work undertaken within Building Consultancy, attracts high calibre individuals from the M&E sector, unlike traditional consultancies who seem to be struggling to recruit in the most candidate short market the industry has ever encountered. A very different environment to traditional consultancy, with no unmanageable and stressful/unpaid workload resulting in a compromise of quality in delivery. That said, you will work on all RIBA design stages 0-7 ranging from feasibility studies to full detailed design, working across a broad range of sectors within the private and public fields. Great commercial development and learning as you work from the cradle to the grave on projects, personally setting the design brief and making key early-stage design decisions, with a clear understanding from the outset of the commercial drivers from the clients’ perspective. Not working to a feasibility that may not make sense and working through the project to handover. A unique career opportunity, a client-side role that will give you direct access to clients, working on the clients’ behalf as part of the client team, acting as the clients’ representative on projects. The perfect role if you are looking for to make your professional world much larger, not only integrating with M&E experts but also with professionals from differing sectors, as the team consists of a mixture of Building Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, Projects Managers, M&E Engineers and Commercial Asset Consultancy professionals. If this sounds of interest or just intriguing, then please get in touch for an initial chat through this opportunity.
