If you are interested in avoiding infection risks when building healthcare facilities, this workshop is for you.

Organised by the Healthcare Infection Society's Special Interest Group Built Environment Infection Prevention Initiative (BEIPI) in collaboration with Institute of Healthcare Engineering & Estate Management (IHEEM), the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), Architects for Health (AfH) and the NHS New Hospitals Programme (NHP), it will bring together leaders in Infection Prevention and Control, clinicians, healthcare planners, architects, engineers, contractors and estates teams to accelerate progress on reducing infection risks in healthcare environments and reducing the threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Through scenario-based exercises and focused discussions, participants will explore how to strengthen cross-sector education, improve communication and develop practical tools for risk assessment and decision-making. The session will also test the feasibility of an expert panel to support complex decisions and help project teams navigate conflicting guidance.

The workshop builds on the work done over the last year by the Built Environment Infection Prevention Initiative (BEIPI), summarised in the BEIPI prospectus. Following this workshop a report/whitepaper will be released.

Please express your interest using the link above, please note expressing interest does not guarantee a place for the workshop due to limited venue capacity. A location will be confirmed in January. Unfortunately this event is not funded and we are unable to cover the costs of your attendance.
