Get ready to dive into the practical challenges and exciting opportunities this new legislation brings for designers. This is an in-person event where you can connect, learn, and discuss real-world impacts and strategies.
Don’t miss out on this chance to get ahead and make your projects safer and smarter. See you there!
Topic 1: Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, and “controllable” building work:
A focused session on how the Building Safety Act regime interfaces with Building Regulations in practice, with particular emphasis on identifying and managing “controllable” building work. What “controllable” building services work looks like in real projects (common examples and grey areas)
Topic 2: Remediation and refurbishment works to existing buildings
A practical session on remediation and refurbishment in existing buildings, concentrating on building fabric and services interfaces—especially firestopping. The discussion would explore what constitutes “building works” within refurbishment scopes, how firestopping is specified and coordinated across trades, and the typical failure points that lead to non-compliance or poor performance.
Speakers:
Ian Newcombe, Rachel Morley & Paul Chapple
