Join us online for Bat-friendly lighting design, a practical session exploring how to create lighting that’s kind to bats and nature.

The presentation covers five technical lighting design techniques that help to reduce the impact artificial lighting has on bats. Specifically, these are colour temperature, beam angle (& optics), luminaire positioning, lighting controls, and light source (focusing on colour rendering index). The presentation discusses why these are important to consider for the purposes of ecology, and how these can contribute to the health and wellbeing of people, as well as how they can accentuate architecture.
