The CIBSE East Anglia Annual Awards are now open for entry!
These awards celebrate the contribution our members in East Anglia make towards excellence in building services engineering and delivering better building performance.
Two categories are open for entry this year:
- Project of the Year
- Young Engineer of the Year

The impact of mechanical and electrical services on a building’s overall performance and success is key.
Nominations are invited for projects involving any aspect (or aspects) of building services where the end result has been a notable improvement in the overall building performance – either in energy use or end user satisfaction.
The judges will be looking for solutions that push forward the boundaries, either through developments in conventional approaches or the use of novel methods or technology, but merit will be given to projects that seek an integrated design approach.
Collaboration at all levels must be demonstrated throughout the project and will be rewarded in the judging process.
The award will go to the project team, including (where relevant) manufacturer, designer, consultant, client and contractors.
Data showing operational performance and/or demonstrating user satisfaction should be provided where possible.
NB the project must be completed within the last 12 months and some tangible results produced.
Judging day:
You will have 20 minutes in total -10 minutes to present and 10 minutes for Q&A. Please provide your presentation in advance in electronic format if possible.

This award is to recognise a young engineer who has made outstanding contributions to the profession and their community.
Any engineer working in the East Anglia region and who is 35 years old or younger as of 31st December 2022 OR within their first 5 years of study after a career change to Building Services Engineering (to be evidenced by CV signed by their employer) can apply or be nominated. We welcome applications from all sectors of our membership – contractors, manufacturers, clients, consultants – and appreciate that each young person will have a very different background and story to tell. We are particularly interested in stories of collaboration and great communication.
The judges will look at:
• Educational achievements
• Activity within CIBSE
• Career position, progression and achievements
• Community involvement – going the extra mile
