SFE Scotland Hub

The Society of Facade Engineers membership is a worldwide network of professionals across the facade industry, with over a thousand members around the globe.

To enable the SFE to provide useful services to such a widespread community, we have established localised hubs to organise and operate on a regional basis.

SFE Scotland Hub: Embodied Carbon in Façades

Hosted at Arup in Edinburgh, the SFE Scotland Hub organised a presentation discussing Arup and Wintech's embodied carbon collaboration.

Erin Cassidy, Façade Engineer, Arup and Pablo Ochoa, Senior Façade Engineer, Wintech introduced the topic of Façade Embodied Carbon, covering the impact of embodied carbon and whole life cycle assessments on the future of façade design.

Wintech and Arup presented examples and case studies of embodied carobon assessments produced through the use of their in-house tools.

SFE Scotland: Henshaw Facades Factory Tour, Edinburgh

In April 2025, SFE Scotland organised a tour of the brand-new state-of-the-art Henshaw Facades curtain wall, window and door fabrication facility at Newbridge, Edinburgh.
