The SLL Jean Heap Research Bursary gives the successful applicant will be given up to £4000 funding.
The 2021 Jean Heap Research Bursary was awarded to Jeevun Grewal. Jeevun's research interests lie in non-visual responses to light, specifically wellbeing and sleep/wake cycles. Jeevun is currently a Masters student at the University of Oxford.
The 2020 Jean Heap Research Bursary was awarded to Manuel Spitschan PhD for his project, luox.app: Development, validation and refinement of a free, open-access tool for calculations related to light and lighting.
Manuel is currently a Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Chronobiology, Basel. You can watch Manuel's video presentation below:
The recipient of the 2019 bursary was Karen van Creveld, with her research proposal Measuring Real Daylight Exposure Afforded by Various Architectural Environments and the Implications for our Health and Wellbeing.
