STEAM 'Get Curious' Work Placement Opportunity

The STEAM 'Get Curious' Lighting Programme is an initiative for those in the Lighting Industry to offer work placements to Key Stage 4 school pupils (age 14 to 15).

The STEAM ‘Get Curious’ Lighting Programme helps students aged 14 to 15 explore the dynamic world of lighting through real workplace placements. You’ll discover how lighting shapes everything around us and learn about the different roles in the industry - from product design and creative lighting practices to manufacturing cutting edge technology.

We’ve partnered with a range of lighting companies to offer work placements where you can meet professionals, see how projects come to life, and start imagining your future career.

What You'll Discover

  • Hands On Experience: Use professional lighting tools and software in settings like buildings, theatres, events, TV or film.
  • Creative Expression: Learn how lighting can set a mood, tell a story, and transform spaces.
  • Industry Insight: See what careers in commercial lighting design, product design, and more really involve.

What You’ll Learn & Gain

  • Problem Solving & Technical Skills: Tackle real world design challenges and work with cutting edge tech.
  • Teamwork & Confidence: Collaborate with professionals and build self-assurance in a real workplace.
