AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm that provides planning, design, engineering, architecture, environmental, and construction management services for public‑ and private‑sector clients worldwide.
AECOM's lighting team offers comprehensive, specialist lighting design for diverse projects globally, integrating technical expertise with creative vision to produce reports, models, drawings, and specifications from concept through detailed design, focusing on safety, sustainability (daylight, low carbon), and enhancing user experience, often working within multidisciplinary teams on large infrastructure and building projects
During your work experience with the lighting team, you will gain valuable insight into multiple aspects of lighting design, from developing initial design concepts to using visualization software that brings those concepts to life. You will learn how to identify and apply the relevant technical standards and understand how these requirements shape the final design.
You will also be introduced to lighting calculation software, enabling you to achieve the required performance criteria with accuracy and confidence. In addition, you will gain an understanding of how AECOM operates as a multidisciplinary organisation and how effective lighting design must be carefully coordinated with other disciplines across the project.
