Position: CIBSE End Point Assessment (EPA) Assessor

Location: Virtual (remote via Microsoft Teams)

Time Commitment:

  • Minimum of one full day of interviews per year

  • Up to three interviews per day when assessing

  • Annual refresher training and standardisation events

Requirements:

  • Fully registered with the Engineering Council at IEng or CEng

  • Currently working in the building services industry

  • Minimum 5 years’ industry experience

  • Commitment to maintaining and submitting annual CPD

About the role:
CIBSE is seeking volunteers to join its pool of End Point Assessment (EPA) Assessors. EPA is a nationally recognised qualification regulated by Ofqual, designed to assess apprentices’ Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) at the end of their apprenticeship. These KSBs are directly mapped to UK-SPEC competences for EngTech and IEng.

EPA Assessors play a vital role in supporting quality, opportunity, and diversity within the building services profession.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing candidate documentation (Written Reports, Engineering Practice Reports, or portfolios of evidence)

  • Conducting remote interviews via Microsoft Teams

  • Completing assessment grading forms for moderation

  • Providing feedback and recommendations to CIBSE

  • Work with members of the Talent, Pipeline and Apprenticeships Panel (TPAP) to review and develop new technical questions for the assessments
