Time commitment: 1 hour a month in LGBTQI+ meeting, plus additional in liaison committee meetings.

Overview

Are you passionate about fostering diversity and inclusion in building services? Do you want to play an active role in supporting the LGBTQI+ community and promoting equity for all? We invite you to join our committee as an ally and volunteer!

As a committee member, you’ll serve as a vital link between the EDI’s LGBTQI+ Panel and the CIBSE Networks. Together with a dedicated team of volunteers, you’ll help organise and deliver impactful events (such as presentations, panel debates, and peer-led discussions) in your local area. These events are designed to share knowledge, build professional networks, and keep participants informed about the latest trends and best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

What You’ll do:

  • Plan and Organise Events: From concept to execution, you’ll help shape events that make a difference.
  • Coordinate Logistics: Work with venues, speakers, and suppliers to ensure smooth event delivery.
  • Promote Collaboration: Partner with CIBSE Network committees and staff to manage logistics, including tech setup, catering, and participant registration.
  • Support Events: Attend events or delegate volunteer support on the day.
  • Build Bridges: Act as a liaison between the EDI’s LGBTQI+ Panel and CIBSE Networks, fostering communication and collaboration on shared goals.
