Time commitment: 1 hour a month in CMEG meeting, plus additional in liaison committee meetings.

Duration: 1-year commitment.

Overview

Are you enthusiastic about diversity in building services, and interested in helping others learn and connect?

We’re looking for volunteers to help link the EDI’s Minority Ethnic Groups Panel with the CIBSE Networks.

Acting as a liaison, you’ll work with dedicated teams of volunteers to orchestrate various events which may include presentations, panel debates or a peer-led talk in your local area. These events facilitate knowledge sharing among professionals, promote networking opportunities, and ensure participants remain informed about current trends and best practices concerning equity, diversity and inclusion of minority ethnic groups.

What you’ll do:

  • Help plan and organise events from start to finish
  • Coordinate with venues, speakers, and suppliers
  • Collaborate with CIBSE Networks to manage logistical arrangements including suppliers, catering services, tech setup and participant registration
  • Work with the volunteers and CIBSE staff to promote events
  • Manage timelines, suppliers, and budgets
  • Attend events or arrange for volunteers to support on the day, or delegate to others on the committee
  • Collect feedback and help improve future events
  • Act as a liaison between EDI’s Minority Ethnic Groups Panel and CIBSE Networks, facilitating communication and coordination to ensure alignment and collaboration on shared goals and initiatives
