About the Role:

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our committees as CPD Event Organisers for the CIBSE Networks (Special Interest Groups, Regions and Societies.)

In this role, you will be responsible for selecting and organising high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events for your members using the Approved CPD Directory. Your efforts will directly support the professional growth and development of our community, ensuring our members have access to relevant, accredited, and engaging learning opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source CPD Opportunities: Regularly browse the Approved CPD Directory to identify courses, webinars, activities that align with the interests and needs of our members.
  • Curate Event Calendars: Select and schedule a diverse range of CPD events, ensuring a mix of topics, formats, and difficulty levels to cater to all members. You will need to work in tandem with the other members of the committee and ensure that the CPD does not clash with other planned events.
  • Promote Events: Work with other volunteers and CIBSE staff to promote the confirmed CPD through email, social media, and our website.
  • Liaise with Providers: Build relationships with CPD providers from the directory to secure the best opportunities and stay informed about new and upcoming events.
  • Monitor Trends: Keep up-to-date with industry trends and member interests to ensure our CPD programme remains relevant and valuable.
  • Provide or delegate Network introduction: Work with your committee members to confirm who will be responsible for providing the audience with an introduction to your network ahead of the CPD, for those who are unaware.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the building services engineering sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Access to the internet and basic IT skills.
