About the Role:
As the Sponsorship Coordinator for your Special Interest Group (SIG), you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with sponsors. Your role is crucial in securing the support needed to deliver high-quality events, resources, and initiatives for our members. You will help the SIG enhance its offerings, and increase its impact within the building services engineering community.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your networking, negotiation, and project management skills while contributing to the success of the SIG.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify Partnership Opportunities:
- Work with the SIG’s events coordinators and Honorary Treasurer to identify sponsorship needs for seminars, workshops, and other activities.
- Research and approach potential partners and sponsors whose values and goals align with those of the SIG.
- Explore opportunities for collaboration with industry organisations, academic institutions, and other professional bodies.
- Seek in-kind support (e.g., venues, speakers, or technology) as well as financial sponsorship.
- Develop Sponsorship Proposals:
- Create compelling sponsorship packages and proposals that outline the benefits of supporting the SIG.
- Tailor proposals to the interests and objectives of potential sponsors.
- Manage Sponsor Relationships:
- Act as the main point of contact for existing and prospective sponsors.
- Negotiate sponsorship terms and manage agreements.
- Ensure sponsors receive the recognition and benefits outlined in their agreements.
- Collaborate:
- Work with the Honorary Treasurer to report on sponsorship income and sponsored activities to the SIG committee in meetings.
- Work with the SIG committee and CIBSE Networks and Engagement Coordinator to advertise sponsorship opportunities for upcoming events.
