We are fortunate to have a large committee of dedicated volunteers. Learn more about each member by reading our bios below!

Chair: Zoe Dickson, SSE 

Having studied Mechanical Engineering with International Study at the University of Strathclyde, Zoe took a year out to travel before joining SSE Energy Solutions on their engineering graduate programme. She now works in the Smart Buildings team as a BMS specialist, championing the importance of building controls in reaching a net zero built environment. Zoe is continually inspired by the energy, enthusiasm and ambition from the young professionals in the CIBSE community. She is passionate about everything BMS, sustainability and promoting diversity in engineering. Zoe was awarded second place in CIBSE ASHRAE’s Graduate of the Year 2024, and was named BCIA Young Engineer of the Year 2025.

General Member: Jonny Betts, Mitsubishi Electric

Jonny holds two degrees in Mechanical Engineering, studying in Belfast, Edinburgh and Kuala Lumpur. Starting off at a small contractor in Northern Ireland, he moved to England to become an energy engineer consultant. After discovering he wants to specialise in sustainable and efficient heating systems, he joined Mitsubishi Electric to help engineers select the optimal equipment for their design and ensuring buildings in the U.K. and abroad minimise their carbon emissions to a high standard.

Treasurer: Matt Dickenson, Atelier Ten

Matt is a Senior Engineer at Atelier Ten and has a passion for finding ways to help the built environment tread more lightly on the planet. He has a keen interest in optimising operational energy consumption of services, whilst still delivering a comfortable indoor environment for occupants. He believes the best way to achieve this is through collaboration and knowledge sharing, which is why he is also an active committee member for the CIBSE HVAC Group.

General Member: Aashika Shibu, Etude

Aashika is an Environmental Consultant at Etude, London, after completing her MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering from UCL. She brings an international perspective to her work, having previously worked as an architect in Dubai. Aashika is passionate about creating sustainable built environments, with a particular focus on decarbonisation and retrofits to mitigate climate change. In her current role, Aashika works on shaping local policy, energy modelling and passive design strategies for diverse projects. She joined the CIBSE YEN London as a General Member and now serves as the Secretary. She is eager to network and collaborate with like-minded engineers in the YEN community while encouraging knowledge sharing among young peers. Currently working towards chartership, she is especially focused on projects that prioritise climate resilience, social value, and systemic change in the built environment.

Comms Coordinator: Molly Behling, Hilson Moran

Molly Behling is a Graduate Design Consultant at Hilson Moran and serves as the Head of Communications for the CIBSE YEN London Region. She holds a dual BEng degree in Architecture and Environmental Engineering from UWE Bristol (2023) and is currently pursuing an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering at UCL (part-time), sponsored by Hilson Moran.

In her role at CIBSE YEN London, Molly leads a team of assistant communication officers, promoting YEN activities across various media platforms. She also supports the global YEN community as Communications Officer for both the London and Global committees. 

Molly’s professional journey is underpinned by her commitment to supporting and inspiring the next generation of engineers. She is working towards CIBSE Chartership and is especially engaged in sports-focused and urban office development projects that prioritise healthy, environmentally conscious spaces.

Publicity Officer: Tom Bull, AECOM

Tom is a graduate mechanical engineer at AECOM, based in St Albans. In July 2023 he graduated from his degree in Architectural Environment Engineering (MEng) from the University of Nottingham which included an industrial placement year, also at AECOM.  At AECOM Tom primarily works on healthcare and laboratory projects and he has a special interest in implementing sustainable design practices into these settings and using new/emerging technologies to improve the way we work. Tom has been attending YEN events since joining AECOM as a grad and has found these events to be an excellent opportunity for personal development and meeting like-minded young engineers in the industry. He joined the committee last year as a general member and has now taken on the role of publicity officer, which will see him writing longer form articles on YEN London activities.

Past Chair: Lizzy Pettitt, KLH Sustainability

Lizzy Pettitt is a sustainability consultant and chartered engineer with experience across a wide range of complex buildings, from decarbonising food factories to unlocking retrofit for blocks of flats.

Lizzy completed her MEng in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Sheffield, moving down to London to spend two years working for a main contractor within the MEP team on a live construction site. She qualified as a Passivhaus Designer and transitioned into sustainability consultancy to influence design decisions at an earlier stage, and how they impact energy consumption, occupant comfort and embodied carbon.

Lizzy is Vice-Chair on the CIBSE Knowledge Generation Panel, which involves planning workshops to identify future knowledge areas, review guidance and research proposals. She also volunteers for the Royal Academy of Engineering’s Mapping Energy project, in collaboration with Nottingham Trent University and Square Mile Churches, working with A Level students to explore extracting heat from the tube or lost rivers to warm the City’s places of worship.

General Member: Mia Richardson, Schneider Electric

Mia Richardson is an Energy Consultant at Schneider Electric and serves as a General Member of the CIBSE YEN London Region. She holds an MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds.

Volunteering for CIBSE YEN London has allowed Mia to meet like-minded professionals in the industry, which helps her understand different roles and how they relate to her own. She values the opportunity to learn more about topics she is passionate about, which she might not have time for in her day-to-day role. Additionally, Mia is a STEM Ambassador for Schneider Electric, dedicated to making engineering accessible to people from all backgrounds.

General Member: Gabriela Amaya, Arup

Gabbi is an Energy Modelling Consultant at Arup and serves as a general committee member for CIBSE YEN London. She holds an MEng degree in Architectural Engineering from Heriot Watt University. 

Since joining CIBSE YEN after moving to London last summer she has enjoyed organising technical events, and helping guide the direction of the committee in a variety of ways, as well as meeting other young engineers at events and sharing knowledge particularly on sustainable design practices in industry.

Saanil Joshi: General Member, Foster + Partners

Saanil Joshi is Vertical Transportation Engineer at Foster and Partners and serves as a General Member of the CIBSE YEN London Region. He holds a BSc degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. I specialize in the design, planning, and modernization of lift and escalator systems across a range of building types, from commercial high-rises to residential and transport infrastructure.

He takes a keen interest in projects that drive energy efficiency, promote inclusive design, and align with broader goals of environmental and social responsibility. Through his involvement with CIBSE YEN, he aims to connect with fellow early-career engineers, foster collaboration, and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the building services industry.

Ayomide Erinle: Assistant Communications Officer, Hollis

Ayomide is a Junior ESG consultant at Hollis a leading independent real estate consultancy , and serves as a Communications Assistant of the CIBSE YEN. She holds a BEng in Architecture and Environmental Engineering from UWE Bristol, and is working towards ACIBSE, with the goal of achieving Chartership in the future.

Her professional interests centre around sustainable design, with a focus on passive design strategies, embodied carbon, and utilising digital modelling tools such as IES and Revit. Within CIBSE, she is also the Honorary Secretary for the Energy Performance Group and a co-opted member of the newly formed Sustainability Group. At Hollis, Ayomide works on a range of ESG-focused services, including EPCs, Net Zero Carbon audits, and ESG due diligence reporting.

Jade Patel: Assistant Communications Officer, Hilson Moran

Jade Patel is a Graduate Design Consultant in the Sustainability Team at Hilson Moran and serves as the Comms Assistant of the CIBSE YEN London Region.

She holds an MEng Degree in Architectural Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham.

Jade specialises in WELL Certifications, building physics in particular EPC, Part L and thermal comfort modelling. Jade also coordinates policy consultations within Hilson Moran and is working towards a BREEAM AP.

Harry Jones: General Member, Schako Ltd

Harry is a Specification support engineer at SCHAKO, a manufacturer of HVAC components and systems. In his role, he supports mechanical engineers with tailored product selections and assists in system design.

Harry has found YEN a valuable space to better understand the priorities and challenges faced by engineers across the industry and he looks forward to contributing to YEN's ongoing growth and impact.

Patrycja Sedor: General Member, Bring Energy

Patrycja Sedor is a Junior Project Development Manager at Bring Energy and serves as a General Member of the CIBSE YEN London Region. She holds a Master’s degree in Building Services Engineering and is passionate about advancing sustainable energy solutions in urban environments.

She works on decentralized energy infrastructure projects, supporting business development and project delivery from concept to financial close, with a focus on decarbonization and smart local energy systems. Prior to this, she contributed to carbon capture and hydrogen projects at KEW Technology and completed an international graduate program with IMI Hydronic Engineering.

She is a strong advocate for Net Zero, a technology enthusiast, and is committed to empowering young engineers through collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the building services community

Apeksha Pattanshetty Mohan: General Member, KJ Tait Engineers

Apeksha is a Graduate Energy and Sustainability Engineer at KJ Tait Engineers in London, having joined in 2024 after completing a Master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture at Oxford Brookes University. Prior to this, she worked as an Architect in India, where her passion for thoughtful design sparked a deeper interest in the environmental performance of buildings.

At KJ Tait, Apeksha works on energy modelling, decarbonisation strategies, whole life carbon assessments, EPC evaluations, and BREEAM and NABERS assessments. Her background in architecture brings a unique design-informed approach to her sustainability work, allowing her to bridge the gap between form and performance.

Passionate about creating buildings that go beyond ratings to deliver meaningful, long-term environmental value, Apeksha joined the CIBSE YEN London committee to connect with like-minded professionals, share knowledge, and help promote a more sustainable and inclusive future in the built environment.

Ben Cartwright: General Member, Luceco Group

Ben is a qualified lighting designer and experienced Project Manager with a strong background across multiple roles in the lighting and building services industry.

He began his career in Melbourne, Australia, joining a lighting manufacturers sales team. There, he worked closely with local architects, consultants, and end users to deliver tailored lighting solutions for a variety of projects.

Ben then took his expertise to a Mechanical & Electrical building services consultancy back in his hometown, Glasgow, where he played a key role in expanding the firm’s lighting design capabilities across all sectors.

Ben has spent the last three years working as a lighting sales engineer for lighting manufacturers in London, further developing his network and deepening his involvement in the lighting specification chain.

Sri Yaswanth Ammanabrolu (Yash): General Member, QODA Consulting

Yash is a Sustainability consultant working in the Central Sustainability team collaborating with the MEP team at QODA Consulting and will be serving as a general member in the CIBSE YEN London Committee. He has a diverse experience working in various sectors within Residential, Commercial, Healthcare and Motorsport industries.

Yash completed his B.Tech in India in Digital Techniques in Design and Planning progressing into his MSc in Building Performance Engineering at University of Nottingham with work experience spanning both the regions adapting and adopting the unique and diverse design techniques into various projects. In the role of a general member it would be a great opportunity to find the optimal balance between memorable networking events and immersive technical discussions to promote learning and socialising inclusively.

The portfolio of works in his career has spanned over Compliance and Operational modelling, Carbon calculations and statements, Comfort and Daylight assessments along Decarbonisation strategies spanning over CIBSE and ASHRAE regulations encompassing BREEAM, LEED and Passivhaus pillars. The scope of works is supported by his drive to becoming an Asset Optimisation Specialist and is working towards LCEA, NABERS and chartership in the end.

Esther Memeh: Assistant Communications Officer, Savills

Esther Memeh is a Graduate Engineer at Savills Mechanical and Electrical Consultancy and serves as an Assistant Comms Officer of the CIBSE YEN London region. She holds an MSc and BEng in Civil Engineering, recently graduating from Loughborough University in December 2024. Despite not coming from a building services related degree, Esther has quickly adapted to her role at Savills and currently sits within the InstaGrad committee and Savills with Schools group. By joining the CIBSE YEN committee, Esther hopes to build long lasting relationships with other young engineers within the building services industry and help to curate events which cater to both current and future engineers.

Ikechukwu Umeokoli: General Member, AtkinsRealis

Ikechukwu Umeokoli is a Mechanical Engineer at AtkinsRéalis, where he specialises in HVAC systems within the building services sector. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MEng, Hons) from the University of Warwick, graduating in 2021. With experience across a variety of sectors, Ikechukwu brings a well-rounded understanding of complex mechanical systems and project delivery. He is particularly passionate about sustainable HVAC design and continues to expand his technical expertise through structured training and self-directed learning. Outside of engineering, he is developing his knowledge in Python programming to support HVAC applications such as system optimisation and performance analysis.

 As a General Member of the CIBSE YEN London committee, Ikechukwu is committed to contributing to the professional growth of young engineers and supporting initiatives that promote engagement, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across the industry.
