CIBSE YEN London Gala 2025

On Friday, 23 May 2025 CIBSE YEN London held the inaugural CIBSE YEN London Gala.

Zoe Dickson, Jonny Betts, Mia Richardson, and Molly Behling from the YEN London committee played pivotal roles in organising this vibrant celebration of the Building Services community.

The atmosphere was electric, filled with inspiring conversations and valuable networking opportunities. Young engineers, manufacturers, and fellow institution members from across the industry gathered to share their experiences and insights, but also to enjoy a lovely meal together.

One of the most memorable moments of the night was the speech delivered by Ellen Salazar, CIBSE’s Head of Building Services. Ellen’s powerful and uplifting words resonated deeply with everyone in attendance. She shared the challenges she has overcome throughout her career, with insightful words of wisdom and a sharp dry wit woven throughout. Ellen emphasised the importance of events like these for building connections, gaining fresh insights, and supporting one another’s growth.

Aside from the powerful speeches, decadent food and generous libations, the gala included the obligatory DJ and dance floor combo, with some fun extras like a 360-degree photo booth, a much-less-than-360-degrees photo booth, an arcade machine, a reaction game and, of course, a candy-floss stall. As the young engineers network, we take pride in living up to our name!

To conclude, the Inaugural CIBSE YEN London Gala was a night to remember. It was a celebration of our supportive and dynamic community, filled with inspiring moments and valuable networking opportunities. Hopefully, it also served as a reminder that professional growth is not just about individual achievements but also about the connections we make and the support we provide to one another. Which is why I would strongly advise joining us at the next event!Zoe, Mia and Lizzy from our committee enjoying some candy floss
