Back to Emerging from Lockdown: CIBSE COVID-19 Guidance

Working safely during the coronavirus outbreak

The Government, in consultation with industry, has produced guidance to help employers, employees and the self-employed understand how to work safely during the coronavirus pandemic. There are eight sector specific sets of guidance on safely returning businesses to operation.

The HSE has published guidance to help you keep workers safe during the coronavirus outbreak. It covers the steps you should take to protect workers and others, in line with your normal legal duties in managing risk and risk assessment at work

The following guides are intended to help you manage the risk from coronavirus in business during this time:

To help reduce the risks of legionella in buildings that have been vacated, the HSE has launched a new website.

Employers, the self-employed and people in control of premises, such as landlords, have a duty to identify and control risks associated with legionella. If a building was closed or has reduced occupancy during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, water system stagnation can occur due to lack of use, increasing the risks of Legionnaires’ disease.

The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) has produced a range of site safety checklists and forms to assist construction employers.
