CIBSE is a member of the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the representative forum for professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations across the construction industry.
CIC brings together industry professionals and expertise, sharing a collective interest in providing a positive impact and contribution to the built environment that delivers a better society.
Our overarching aims are to promote quality, support the development of skills, meet the challenges of climate change, embrace diversity, and encourage a healthy and safe construction sector.
CIC member-led committees and panels have helped it to emerge as an authoritative voice on issues such as building safety and net zero. CIC uses its collective knowledge and expertise to respond to consultations and calls for evidence from government, parliamentary committees or other stakeholders.
The CIC is also responsible for administering the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Excellence in the Built Environment, which helps to raise the profile of our work and update parliamentarians on key developments. The CIC also hosts regular economic & policy briefings featuring experts from industry and government, which CIBSE members can also participate in.
