In 2025, members participated in a wide range of professional development, including 9 webinars, 23 technical seminars, and the Building Performance Reimagined Seminar Series. Site tours, social events, and our presence at ARBS 2025 and Perth Design Week further strengthened our community. We expanded our resources with new Talking Buildings podcasts, delivered 10 training courses across Australia, and launched Mechanical Services Training in New Zealand. We also celebrated four outstanding young engineers at the CIBSE ANZ Young Engineers Awards.
Strengthening Partnerships
Collaboration remained central to our work. We partnered with CIOB across multiple states, expanded engagement with the Society of Façade Engineering, delivered a two-part webinar series with IHEA, and worked with ICC, HCAA, and AHSCA to develop a new one-day Drainage Design Course.
Growing and Celebrating Our Membership
We proudly launched YEN South Australia and deepened university engagement at Sydney, Griffith, RMIT, and the University of Melbourne, while building new connections with Monash University. A special milestone was recognising David William Levingston Cooke and David Reeks in Auckland for over 50 years of membership.
Looking Ahead to 2026
This year brings new opportunities, including electrical training in New Zealand, the rollout of the Drainage Design Course, a new Fire Protection course, and an updated Soft Landings framework. We also look forward to welcoming the CIBSE President to Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide in March.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment. Together, we will continue shaping a more resilient and high‑performing built environment across our region.
Warm regards,
