The BESA HIU Test Standard is cited within the Heat Network Technical Standard (TS1) published by DESNZ, reinforcing its role in improving the performance of heat interface units and their contribution to successful utilisation of heat networks.
Version 3.1 represents another significant step forward for the HIU market. Whilst it retains many of the major changes and updates that were included in the V3 standard published in 2023, the revised performance thresholds and introduction of best practice values contained in V3.1 focusses on the needs of network consumers and operators, whilst recognising the steps manufacturers are taking through their product development.
Following the publication the V3.1 standard BESA will be retiring the V2 (2018) test standard and HIU tested to it will no longer be registered with the scheme.
