CIBSE’s Technical Team recently held the first meeting of its refreshed Building Safety Working Group, as the UK Government seeks views from the industry on plans for a Single Construction Regulator (SCR) and wider reforms.

The refreshed group brings together cross-disciplinary expertise from across building services and building safety engineering, ensuring that CIBSE is well-placed to input its views on Government plans, as well as other emerging policy proposals across building safety.

Chaired by former CIBSE President George Adams, the Group's first meeting welcomed Graham Watts, Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Council (CIC), to talk about the SCR prospectus, highlighting its significance for the professional engineering community and wider built environment.

You can view Graham's presentation to the Group on the Government plans below.

Further details of the SCR consultation, including timings and how to respond, are available on CIBSE’s current consultations page.
