Net Zero and Heat and Buildings Strategies

On Tuesday 19 October 2021, the Government published its long-awaited Net Zero Strategy and Heat & Buildings Strategy, ahead of COP26.

The Government also produced 3 consultations associated with the Heat & Buildings strategy:

• A Market Mechanism for Low-Carbon Heat
• Phasing out the installation of fossil fuel heating systems in homes off the gas grid 
• Phasing out the installation of fossil fuel heating systems in businesses and public buildings off the gas grid 

CIBSE is analysing both strategies and will shortly produce a briefing on it, look out for it on our policy pages. These consultations close on 12 January 2022.
