CIBSE encourages all its members to participate in the current consultations in the area of building services that are listed below and to contribute to Institutional responses.
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) have launched two new consultations as part of a series of consultations on regulations which provide technical proposals that support the law as set out in the Building Safety Act 2022. They provide further detail on how it will operate and be enforced.
- Implementing the new Building Control Regime for Higher-Risk buildings and wider changes to the Building Regulations for all buildings
- The In-occupation Regime for Occupied Higher-Risk Buildings
These consultations are part of the ongoing work to implement the powers in the new Building Safety Act 2022. They provide further detail on how it will operate and be enforced in practical day-to-day work.
DLUHC are keen to gather a wide range of views to support its policy development process and CIBSE will be responding to the consultations, which will inform the development of the regulations before they are laid in Parliament. To contribute to the CIBSE response please send your comments or questions to [email protected]. We will need contributions to the response by 1st October 2022. There will be further activities to support the development of the response which will be announced here in due course.
