CIBSE is proud to mark Black History Month 2025, a time to celebrate the achievements, stories and contributions of Black professionals within the building services sector. This year’s theme, “Standing Firm in Power and Pride”, reflects resilience, excellence, and the importance of recognising and amplifying diverse voices in our industry.
At the heart of CIBSE’s commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion is the CIBSE Minority Ethnic Groups Panel (CMEGP), a sub-panel of the CIBSE EDI Committee. The CMEGP works to:
-
Promote awareness and improve performance on equality, diversity, and inclusion across the CIBSE membership community.
-
Partner with external agencies to understand, promote, and contribute to best practice.
-
Support the wider building services industry by championing practical ways to improve EDI within organisations.
Throughout October, CIBSE will be sharing inspiring stories and profiling exceptional members of the CIBSE community on social media, highlighting the achievements, journeys and expertise of Black engineers, designers and leaders shaping the sector. These profiles will demonstrate the talent and impact of minority ethnic professionals and provide insight and inspiration for all.
CIBSE’s commitment to inclusion goes beyond Black History Month. The Institution works year-round to foster a diverse and welcoming environment, encouraging participation from all communities and championing initiatives that support equality and fairness across the built environment industry.
Join us in celebrating the power, pride, and contributions of Black professionals in our sector, and see how CIBSE continues to champion diversity and inclusion throughout the year.
