The CIBSE Young Engineer Awards 2025 once again celebrated the brightest emerging talent in building services engineering, marking the 30th anniversary of this prestigious event. Held annually, the awards honour outstanding young engineers and the employers who support and develop the next generation of industry leaders. This year’s ceremony brought together a lively audience of professionals to recognise innovation, talent, and the future of the industry.
As part of the celebrations, the inaugural CIBSE YEN Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) Design Challenge, sponsored by Zehnder, took place earlier in the day. This new competition brought together young engineers to design and model a space using IEQ principles, with a £2,000 prize for the winning team. The challenge showcased creativity, innovation and sustainable thinking, and the winners were announced during the evening ceremony, receiving the first-ever Young Engineer Design Excellence Award.
