18 Mar 24

The CIBSE Hong Kong Region has celebrated its 45th anniversary with a special celebratory dinner. Around 500 guests attended the dinner from all areas of the industry, as well as past chairs, committee and YEN members, and also hosted guest of honour Mr. Victor Tai, JP, Under Secretary for Housing, The Government of the HKSAR.

The milestone is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the significant contribution and dedication of the CIBSE community in Hong Kong in expanding CIBSE’s influence of building services engineering globally.

Over the last 45 years, CIBSE Hong Kong has been instrumental in championing sustainability, energy efficiency and excellence in the built environment.

The Hong Kong Region has forged long-lasting partnerships with many organisations who value their contribution. Most notably the partnerships with Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), ASHRAE Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University demonstrate the strong progress that has been made in collaborating to deliver a sustainable future for all.

“CIBSE Hong Kong Region has achieved a huge amount in its 45 years and continues to go from strength to strength. We will continue to raise CIBSE’s professional status in the region and highlight the impact and effectiveness of engineering solutions in Hong Kong.”

CIBSE President Adrian Catchpole said:

“I have no doubt that our Hong Kong region will continue to excel and I have immensely enjoyed working with the Regional Committee to help build a better future for all. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to everyone who has supported CIBSE Hong Kong over the last 45 years, without whom, our leadership in Hong Kong would simply not be possible - you are some of our greatest ambassadors and we are indebted to you all.”
