News
10 Aug 21

Keith Merry is stepping down from the role of CIBSE Queensland Chair. Having served his term since November 2018, he felt it was time to move on.

CIBSE would like to thank Keith for all the hard work, commitment and the effort he has put into the Queensland branch of CIBSE over the past few years. In addition, Keith has made a significant contribution to the strategic future planning of the Australia & New Zealand region and will be missed.

Fellow CIBSE ANZ Committee member, Steve Hennessy commented, "Keith has twice stood up to help the Queensland Chapter. He has great ideas and a wonderful way of explaining things. Hopefully he will continue to play an important role in our institution as I for one would miss his wise counsel. As for his sartorial elegance, standards will slip once he steps down …."

Jen Cardwell, Mechanical Building Services Engineer at Arup will take over the role as Queensland Chair. Jen will also maintain her position as CIBSE ANZ Hon Secretary whilst Keith will remain a member of the Queensland committee in a less active capacity. Jen, thanks Keith on behalf of the Queensland committee for his leadership over the last few years. "I look forward to continuing to work with him for our local members."

On behalf of CIBSE ANZ, Mark Crawford, CIBSE ANZ Chair sends the following message, "I would like to pass on my sincere thanks and gratitude to Keith for all of his efforts in fulfilling the role of Chair in Queensland.  He did a sterling job over many years and brought a huge amount of technical input and personality to both his chapter and the ANZ region in general.  Cheers Keith and all the best for the future."
