CIBSE’s vision is for better performing buildings, both for society and the environment and it is committed to further enhance the support and recognition of individuals, including students, in building services for their achievements.

For the third year, CIBSE has supported the Auckland University of Technology - Engineering Awards 2020.

This year CIBSE ANZ Young Engineers Network Chair in Auckland, Jerrin Pius presented two CIBSE sponsored awards at this online ceremony. Awarding Top Bachelor of Engineering Technology Graduate in the Building Services Engineering Major to Thao Nguyen and top Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Graduate in the Architectural Engineering Major to Scott Bristow.

Both Scott and Thao received a well-earned $200 voucher.

When presenting the awards Jerrin Pius commented that “Students are the innovators and future leaders to tackle the challenges in the built environment. It is their novel ideas and improvement to the overall skills shortage in the industry that can deliver a better performing built environment”

CIBSE wishes both students a hearty congratulations and the very best in their future careers. No doubt they will each go on to become invaluable contributors to the building services industry.

As an institution, CIBSE would like to do more to support the achievements of university students in all parts of the ANZ region. If members know of any worthy university award programmes that could benefit from the institutions support please email [email protected]
