Finalists for the 2022 Ken Dale Travel Bursary Announced

The CIBSE Ken Dale Bursary grants the winner up to £4000 to spend three to four weeks travelling the world and researching how different conditions impact the built environment. After receiving an array of fantastic applications, a shortlist of five finalists has now been selected.

New National Modelling Guide requires update to latest CIBSE Weather Data Sets

The National Calculation (NCM) Modelling Guide came into force on 15 June 2022. It includes several important changes, including an upgrade to the 2016 CIBSE Test Reference Year (TRY) weather data sets.

Government announce further support for business as they transition to UKCA marking regime

Time for a major upgrade of buildings to create healthier indoor environments, says report

Government must seize the post-pandemic opportunity to mandate long-term improvements to infection control in commercial, public and residential buildings to reduce the transmission of future waves of COVID-19, new pandemics, seasonal influenza and other infectious diseases, according to a report published by the National Engineering Policy Centre (NEPC).

Kevin Mitchell leads CIBSE Council in inspiring the next generation

In the role for just over a month, CIBSE President, Kevin Mitchell has had a busy few weeks. At the start of his presidency, Kevin launched the #CIBSE125Challenges. As outlined within his inaugural address, Kevin has one theme for the year ahead: to inspire the next generation, two goals: to pay forward the support received to those starting their careers and to share how building services engineers are vital to the transition to net zero carbon and in fighting climate change, and finally five challenges: Celebrate, Inspire, Boost, Share and Engage.
