We caught up with Adam Tovey, Marketing Manager at Powrmatic Limited, about their experience joining the CIBSE CPD Directory.

1. Can you tell us about your organisation and the type of CPD courses you offer?

We’re a trusted leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of advanced HVAC solutions. Our portfolio spans multi-energy heating and cooling systems, innovative air movement technologies, natural and smoke ventilation, and air conditioning solutions. We collaborate closely with architects, consultants, building design specialists, and HVAC professionals to deliver sustainable, high-performance systems. Our CPD courses are designed to share practical insights and deep technical knowledge across a range of HVAC topics, helping professionals stay at the forefront of energy-efficient building design.
 
2. What inspired you to become a CIBSE-approved CPD provider?

CIBSE holds an exceptional reputation in the building services industry. As a forward-thinking HVAC solutions provider, we were keen to contribute to the knowledge base of engineers and designers working to build more sustainable environments. Becoming a CIBSE-approved provider has given us the opportunity to share our expertise with a highly engaged and influential audience across the UK.
 
3. How did you find the process of becoming CIBSE-approved?

Surprisingly straightforward! From setting up our account and using the Starter Packs, to having our CPD courses approved, the whole journey was seamless. The CIBSE team was incredibly supportive, even promoting our courses on their LinkedIn page, which resulted in over 20 bookings right off the bat. We’ve really appreciated the level of guidance and exposure they offer.
 
4. What benefits have you seen since becoming a CIBSE-approved provider?

Since launching in January 2025, the response has been fantastic. We’ve delivered numerous CPD presentations and have a packed schedule for the next six months. I’ve been especially impressed with the added value through CIBSE’s events and networking opportunities – something we’re keen to get even more involved in, particularly through the CIBSE South West regional events.
 
5. What would you say to other organisations considering joining the CIBSE CPD Directory?

If you’re passionate about sharing your knowledge and helping others grow, it’s a no-brainer. CIBSE provides a trusted platform and access to a highly relevant audience. We’d absolutely recommend becoming an approved provider – it’s a great way to position your business and give back to the industry.
 
6. What are your future plans for CPD course development?

We’re continuing to expand our CPD offerings and plan to have more courses approved by the CIBSE team soon. Topics in the pipeline include air conditioning solutions for hotels and care homes, radiant heating (both gas and electric), and air rotation technology. We also actively welcome suggestions – if there’s an HVAC topic you’d like to learn more about, reach out to us and we’ll explore the possibility of building a tailored session.
