An introductory course to cover all the primary design considerations for underground building drainage from the building to the sewer connection.
This will cover pipe sizing, materials, access and relevant legislation and standards. It shows the interaction between pipes and foundations. It also covers the correct access points and distances and requirements for access within below ground building drainage.
The course introduces the concept of sustainable urban drainage and methods of water attenuation on site.

Adrian Flaherty
Ramboll UK | Public Health Engineer
Adrian has experience in all areas of Public Health design and installation. This includes domestic hot and cold water services; above & below ground drainage; rainwater & greywater harvesting and firefighting systems.
These systems have been designed for a wide range of projects including offices, multi residential units, hotels, schools, high-rise, airfields and hospitals. Adrian started as a plumbing apprentice and developed as a contractor and designer. He has worked mainly in the UK but also has experience in Europe and the Middle East.
Competencies include pipe & pump sizing, pressure loss, loading and discharge unit calculations. Previous work includes the training of apprentices, mentoring graduates and working as a lecturer delivering plumbing and gas training.
