Terms & Conditions for Training

  1. Disclaimer
CIBSE endeavours to provide accurate and comprehensive training courses and materials. However, we do not accept responsibility for any actions or decisions made as a result of the information or views expressed in the training courses, including course materials. The opinions and perspectives shared by individual trainers are their own and may not necessarily reflect the views of CIBSE. Participants are strongly advised to seek professional advice when applying the knowledge gained in the course to specific real-world situations.

  2. Advertising
CIBSE reserves the right to make modifications to the advertised training dates, venues, trainers, and course content. While we make every effort to deliver all training as published, in the event of any changes, delegates who have already made a booking will be promptly informed and updated. Any changes will also be reflected on the CIBSE website to ensure transparency and accurate information.

  3. Delegate Fees
The fees for both face-to-face and remote training courses cover trainer delivery, course materials (electronic format), and a CPD Certificate of Attendance. Please note that face-to-face training courses also include lunch and refreshments, while remote training does not include these provisions.

  4. Delegate Payment
Payment for training courses can be made via credit card or invoice. The invoice option is reserved for organisations booking delegates onto a course who wish to pay via invoice. For bookings of 6 or more delegates, please contact [email protected] for more information. All fees for CIBSE Training courses are subject to VAT at the applicable rate. Upon payment, an automatic VAT receipt will be issued via email for your records.

  5. Joining Instructions
All training courses will be confirmed or cancelled a minimum of 7 days and no later than 14 days before the scheduled date. In the event that a course is cancelled, delegates will be informed promptly by email and offered the opportunity to either transfer to another available date or receive a full refund.

  6. Delegate Attendance
To qualify for the CPD Certificate of Attendance, delegates must attend the full duration of the course. Partial attendance will result in the non-issuance of the certificate.

  7. Delegate Refund
If a delegate needs to cancel their booking, the following policies apply:

Cancellations made less than 14 days before the course date will not be eligible for a refund. However, the delegate may transfer their place to a colleague (a delegate swap).

If cancellation occurs more than 14 days in advance, a full refund will be issued or, alternatively, the delegate may transfer their booking to another available date for the same course within the same calendar year.

Transfers to courses scheduled in a different calendar year are not permitted.

  8. Training Cancellation/Postponement
In the event of a course cancellation or postponement by CIBSE, such as due to trainer illness, public transport strikes, or other unforeseen circumstances, CIBSE will make every effort to reschedule the training to a later date or offer the course in an alternative format (e.g., Microsoft Teams). If rescheduling or alternative arrangements are not possible, delegates will be offered a full refund.

  9. On Demand Training
Access to On Demand training courses is granted for a period of one year from the date of enrolment, unless otherwise specified. If a delegate has not completed the training or exam within the one-year access period, they will be required to repurchase the training or exam in order to continue.

  10. Course and Module Assignment for Corporate Bookings
For corporate group bookings or bundle purchases, the client is responsible for notifying CIBSE of the delegates' names and the specific courses or modules they require. CIBSE will then assign the modules or courses to the delegates. Once a delegate has been enrolled in a course, it is their responsibility to complete it within the designated one-year period. If a delegate has not yet begun their course, they may request a transfer to another delegate, provided the course has not been started. Please note that once a delegate has started a course, it cannot be transferred to another delegate.

  11. Special Requirements/Inclusions
We are committed to ensuring that all delegates have a positive learning experience. If you or your delegates have any special requirements (e.g., dietary restrictions, accessibility needs, etc.) or require accommodations (such as additional time for exams due to special needs such as dyslexia or other learning difficulties), please notify us at the time of booking. We request that delegates provide appropriate documentation to support their request so that we can make the necessary arrangements in advance. We will do our utmost to accommodate these requirements to ensure a smooth and inclusive experience.
