Terms & Conditions for Training

1) Disclaimer

CIBSE does not accept responsibility for anyone acting as a result of information or views expressed on its training courses including course material. Opinions expressed are those of individual trainers and not necessarily those of CIBSE. Participants should take professional advice when dealing with specific situations. 

2) Advertising
We make every effort to deliver all our published training dates. However CIBSE reserve the right to make changes to the venue, trainers or programme advertised.

3) Delegate fees
Fees for face to face training include trainer delivery, relevant training materials (electronic version only), lunch, refreshments and a CPD Certificate of Attendance.

4) Delegate payment
We require payment in full via credit card from all individuals who book public training. All CIBSE Training courses are subject to VAT at the current rate. Once you have paid for a training you will get an automatic email with a VAT receipt. 

5) Group bookings
For group bookings by organisations, we accept invoices with a 30 day payment policy. However for late bookings, the invoice will need to be paid in full prior to the commencement of the training.  If you require a purchase order to be quoted on your invoice, this must be supplied at the time of booking. Please note we do not accept card payments via American Express.

6) Joining instructions 
We automatically confirm all training two weeks before the date and you will receive an email from [email protected]. If you have not received an email by that date then please contact us. 

7) Delegate attendance
All attendance is marked on a register and a CPD Certificate  of Attendance is automatically issued. At least 50% attendance is required to receive a certificate.

8) Delegate refund
If you have to cancel a training less than two weeks before the training, we can not swap delegates or provide a refund, only transfer to a future training within that calendar year. Once you have started a training you cannot request a refund. 

9) Training cancellation/postponement 
If for any reason a public or corporate training is cancelled after the confirmation date e.g. because of public transport strikes or trainer illness, then we we will always to try to reschedule the training to a later date,  or hold it on Microsoft Teams on the same day,  or offer a full refund. 

10) Travel arrangements
We recommend booking flexible travel and accommodation arrangements as we cannot be liable for any costs incurred due to cancellations or rescheduling. 

11) International delegates
We are not authorized to provide visas but we can write a letter of invitation from CIBSE, as long as full payment of the training fee has been received. CIBSE is not able to act on behalf of the participant and is not responsible for any costs incurred by failure to obtain a visa.

12) Sustainability
All our correspondence is paperless. We ask all delegates to bring laptops to the training as we no longer print training materials. 

13) Corporate training
a)
The client is responsible for ensuring that their delegates are on the right training for them 
b) The client is responsible for the venue and the catering of the corporate training 
c) If there any additional delegates who attend on the day of the training, then an additional invoice will be issued

14) On demand training
All on demand training is valid from the year it was purchased and one full calendar year after. If you have purchased on demand training but not yet started it, you can transfer it to another person within the above time period.

15) Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights, including course handouts and other materials will remain the property of CIBSE and cannot be reproduced without prior consent.
