All shortlisted entries to the MENA Building Performance Award will automatically be entered into the global CIBSE Building Performance Awards, offering the opportunity for further recognition of their achievements and leadership.

This Award recognises and celebrates buildings that most effectively demonstrate MEP retrofit project work completed or nearing completion within the 12 months which has been designed or installation that has made a significant contribution to a MENA project. This award recognises the importance of our developing talent within the MENA region as they progress through to accomplished engineers and to individuals who have excelled and show promise in the area of building services.
Entries should be from MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Region organisations or the MENA office of organisations with multiple offices. The awards are open to all Building Services Graduates who have studied / trained within the period of 1 September 2024 – 1 September 2025. Graduates who are still studying / training are eligible. Graduates will be judged on their skills development, university work, achievements at work and attitude. Graduates with more than 12 months work experience will fall in the Young Engineer’s Category.
This Award recognises and rewards the contributions of practicing Mechanical Engineers to creating and maintaining a sustainable built environment. It celebrates individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the Science, Art and Practice of Mechanical engineering in the projects.
Entries should be from MENA based organisations or the MENA office of organisations with multiple offices. The awards are open to all Mechanical Engineers who are involved as part of the building service industry and shall demonstrate the outstanding work carried out between the period of 1st September 2024 – 1st September 2025.

These deliverables may include some or all of the following:- client satisfaction through delivering projects on time and on budget; correct interpretation of the client brief; team collaboration at all project stages; added value management and efficiency through innovation; outstanding or exemplary results for key performance indicators or measurement methods such as commissioning results, design stage and as built energy performance targets.
Entries should be from MENA based building services consultancies, or the MENA office of organisations with multiple offices, and be based on the consultancy services delivered during the period 1st June 2024 – 1st June 2025. They should also be accompanied by testimonials from clients and other partners such as contractors, and other participants in the supply chain.
This award recognises the achievements of MENA based manufacturers and their products that are either produced, designed or sold from facilities within the region. It is for new and/or innovative products that make a difference through reduced energy and resource use, or simpler/safer installation and maintenance.

This award recognises the importance of our contractors and their contribution into supporting and developing projects. This award looks to demonstrate the client’s contribution and engagement with the construction team on either a refurbishment or a new build project. These contributions may include some or all of the following:- assisting with team performance (delivering projects on time and on budget); driving team collaboration at all project stages; clear briefing with added value from past experience.
Entries should be from MENA based building services contractors carrying out installation, maintenance or commissioning duties, or the MENA office of organisations with multiple offices, and be based on the contracting services delivered during the period 1st June 2024 – 1st June 2025. Entries should be from MENA based building services consultancies, manufacturers and contractors, or the MENA office of organisations with multiple offices, and be based on the activities delivered during the period 1st June 2024 – 1st June 2025 They should also be accompanied by supporting documents to validate the innovation.
This award recognises exceptional contributions by consultancy firms to understanding and reducing embodied carbon in building services. Embodied carbon is increasingly acknowledged as a major contributor to carbon
emissions and must be addressed alongside operational carbon to meet net zero carbon goals.
Entries should be from MENA based building services consultancies, or the MENA office of organisations with multiple offices, and be based on the consultancy services delivered during the period 1st June 2024 – 1st June 2025 They should also be accompanied by other partners such as contractors, and other participants in the supply chain.
This Award recognises and celebrates an innovation that has made a significant contribution to digital engineering. The awards are open to all Engineers who are involved in a sustainable lighting project and shall demonstrate the outstanding work carried out between the period of 1st June 2024 – 1st June 2025.
This Award aims to recognise and celebrate originality and ingenuity of a product introduced in the façade in the last three years that resolves a major problem or addresses a key issue. The product could be a material, component, hardware, software or an equipment but is essentially associated with the façade design and engineering. We will be evaluating the entry for its contribution to innovation, sustainable design and the ability to meet the current day demands such as modularity, low embodied carbon, ease of handling and installation, robust testing and certification, improving a said performance (entrant to define) and addressing the service life and maintenance issues. The entrant to indicate the evolution of the product to show the progression from concept to manufacturing.
Entries should be from UAE based organisations or the UAE office of organisations with multiple offices. The awards are open to any façade contract practically completed by 1st January 2025 to qualify.
This category recognises the work and dedication of the full project team and can be entered by any or all members of that team.
