Optimal Decontamination Strategies enhance IAQ while cutting emissions, shaping healthier, more sustainable indoor environments.

Background to the issue that led to delivering this session.

ASHRAE 241 has been available for implementation for over 12 months. With growing take up globally, momentum is building. Focussed on infection control, the principles of the standard are increasingly making their way into national standards rating schemes and health guidelines.

This session will cover:

  • ASHRAE 241
  • The difference between Equivalent Clean Air and Effective Outdoor Air
  • The differences and similarities to AS1668.2 Appendix D
  • The Deemed To Satisfy pathway that may apply
  • Recent peer reviewed case studies on bushfire smoke, hospital implementations and airborne mould.

This session will be presented by Ben Gill, CEO of Plasma Shield Ltd., leads innovations in air decontamination and IAQ. Formerly Head of Asia Pacific at BrainBox AI, he has 17+ years’ leadership experience in HVAC, property, technology, and governance, bringing expertise in decarbonisation, emissions reduction, and sustainable indoor environments.
