Junior Electrical Engineer
A well-established and growing MEP building services consultancy is looking for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Wokingham team. Known for delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions, the business works across residential, hospitality, commercial and mixed-use sectors, partnering with leading architects, developers and contractors on both new build and refurbishment projects. Role This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer with some industry experience to develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll take on more responsibility across projects, contributing to electrical design from concept through to completion while working alongside experienced engineers. Responsibilities Assisting and contributing to the design of electrical building services systems Producing drawings, calculations and technical documentation with increasing autonomy Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across a range of projects Attending site visits, surveys and client/project meetings Supporting project delivery to meet deadlines and quality standards Developing knowledge of industry standards, regulations and best practice Using design software such as AutoCAD and Revit Requirements Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering 1–3 years’ experience in a building services or consultancy environment Good understanding of electrical design principles Experience with AutoCAD/Revit (or similar design tools) Strong communication and teamwork skills Proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and continue learning Opportunity Structured training and ongoing mentorship Exposure to a wide range of high-quality UK and international projects Clear pathway towards professional accreditation (e.g. CIBSE/IET) Competitive salary and benefits package Supportive, collaborative working environment with real career progression

Associate Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Consultancy) Manchester to £70,000 + Package Talent Motion specialise in transitioning experienced M&E Design Engineers from traditional M&E design consultancy into client-side Building Consultancy. You will design across all RIBA stages 1-7, ranging from feasibility studies to full detailed design, working across a broad range of sectors within the private and public fields. With a 20 strong M&E team the business traditionally focused on all aspects of M&E Surveying, but over recent years they have invested growth into their M&E Design, Project Management and Decarbonisation service offering. As a global Building Consultancy, the main differential from the traditional design consultancies is that they have access to their own client base and do not have to competitively tender for projects, resulting in a less pressurised environment and providing the financial resources to recruit into the M&E team when needed rather than expecting employees to shoulder more pressure and work excessive hours.
