Membership Statement
The CIBSE Minority Ethnic Groups (MEG) Panel brings together members and supporters who are passionate about creating a profession where talent, contribution and potential are recognised irrespective of ethnicity or background.
We welcome minority ethnic professionals, allies, advocates, students, apprentices and industry leaders who share our commitment to promoting inclusion and broadening participation within building services engineering and the wider built environment sector.
Through membership and active engagement, individuals can contribute to thought leadership, support mentoring and outreach initiatives, participate in networking and professional development activities and help shape the Panel's work in driving positive and lasting change across the profession.
Our strength lies in the diversity of our membership and our shared determination to build a profession in which everyone has the opportunity to belong, contribute and succeed.
Members of CMEG can:
- Attend Panel events, webinars and networking activities.
- Engage with the Panel's initiatives and outreach programmes.
- Express their interest by contacting the Panel Chair or Secretary.
- Volunteer to support Panel projects, events, mentoring activities or working groups.
- Participate in Panel meetings and discussions, where appropriate.
About CMEG
To champion equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging across CIBSE and the wider built environment sector by creating opportunities for engagement, professional development, mentoring, networking and meaningful dialogue. We seek to inspire future generations, support current building services professionals and work collaboratively with industry partners to remove barriers and promote equitable opportunities for all.
To increase the participation, progression and representation of minority ethnic professionals within building services engineering by encouraging professional development, strengthening networks, promoting inclusive practices and supporting initiatives that create lasting positive change across the profession.

Membership is open to CIBSE members and non-CIBSE members at all career stages, from students and apprentices through to experienced professionals, as well as supporters and allies who are committed to creating a more inclusive and representative profession.
