CIBSE Building Performance Awards

Entries open: May 2017
Entry deadline: 15 September 2017
Winners announced: 6 February 2018 at Grosvenor House Hotel, London
Recognising the businesses, teams, products and projects that demonstrate engineering excellence in the built environment. Entries are sought that demonstrate improved energy efficiency through measured building performance.

CIBSE ASHRAE Graduate of the Year

Entry deadline: 1 August 2017 
Awards: 13 October 2017 at IMechE, London
Open to candidates that have graduated in a building services related discipline within the last two years. First prize is a trip to the 2018 ASHRAE Conference in Chicago.

CIBSE Employer of the Year

Entry deadline: 1 August 2017 
Awards: 13 October 2017 at IMechE, London
Awarded to organisations that pro-actively champion young people in the building services sector, through commitment to young people in the workplace or by supporting those employees through education.

Green Infrastructure Design Challenge

Call for entries: 24 April - 8 May 2017
Exhibition of shortlisted designs: 15-19 May at Build Studios, London as part of Green Sky Thinking Week
Awards Presentation: 19 May 2017 at Build Studios, London as part of Green Sky Thinking Week
In partnership with UKCIP, the Green Infrastructure Design Challenge invites individuals, teams, students, practitioners, and researchers to demonstrate how both indoor and outdoor green infrastructure can contribute to the health, wellbeing and productivity of staff, while simulataneously improving the building's energy efficiency and climatic resilience.

Society of Light and Lighting (SLL) Young Lighter of the Year

Call for entries: January - 8 May 2017
Awards: November 2017
Providing a unique platform for young lighters to write a paper on a lighting subject, hone their presentation skills in front of an invited panel of judges, and raise their profile within the industry, and win professional kudos.

President's Prize: CIBSE Undergraduate Award

Call for entries: Deadline Friday 21 July 2017
Winner announced: August 2017
Awarded to students in their final year of a building services course accredited by CIBSE recognising their academic achievements at the end of their course of study.

Society of Public Health Engineer (SoPHE) Young Engineer Award

Call for entries: Deadline 11 September 2017
Applicants, aged 18-35, are challenged to develop an engineering solution. Winners then receive an in-country technical visit to verify the applicability of their design.

Ken Dale Travel Bursary

2017 Entry deadline: 21 April 2017
Winner announced: May 2017
The bursary makes awards available of between £1,500 and £4,000 to CIBSE members in the developmental stage of their careers and offers the chance to travel and research areas connected with the applicant's field of work.

Masters Student Award in Building Simulation

An annual prize run by the CIBSE Building Simulation Group open to postgraduate students from the UK and overseas. The aim is to encourage the use of, and develop innovation in, building simulation techniques for research and development.  Challenge for 2017 will be available later in the year. 

Society of Facade Engineering's Competition

FAÇADE2016 is the latest iteration of the SFE’s international competition, designed to recognise, reward and promote excellence in the key disciplines of façade design, engineering and application.

Teambuild Future Leaders Competition

A cross-disciplinary construction competition, for professionals aged under 30, in which teams were challenged to compete in a simulation of the design and construction process for the development of a real site.
