Your new role Take ownership of assigned projects, focusing on healthcare, public sector, education, and commercial sectors. Act as the primary client contact for both technical and commercial matters. Contribute to business development activities and help grow client relationships. Support senior leadership with project planning, resource allocation, and delivery strategies. Lead and coordinate the electrical design team, ensuring successful project outcomes and mentoring junior engineers. Provide technical guidance on healthcare projects, helping the team meet sector-specific standards and requirements. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to deliver integrated solutions. Assist senior management with commercial aspects, including bidding for new work and managing project finances. Produce detailed engineering designs using industry-standard software such as IES, IES-VE, AutoCAD, MagiCAD, and Revit, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and energy efficiency/net-zero carbon goals. What you'll need to succeed Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (BEng or MEng). Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it). Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIBSE, IET); IHEEM membership is highly desirable. A strong background in UK healthcare projects is desirable. Minimum 5 years' post-graduate experience in a UK design consultancy. Expertise in mechanical building services design, with a solid understanding of technical standards, legislation, and best practice. Commercial awareness and experience managing project budgets and financial performance. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, ensuring delivery on time and within scope. A proactive, positive approach with excellent communication skills to inspire confidence in clients and colleagues. Mechanical Estimator

Your new company A well-established and growing Mechanical & Electrical contractor based in Northamptonshire is looking to expand its mechanical projects division due to continued success and a strong pipeline of work.The business delivers mechanical packages across a range of sectors including residential accommodation (apartment blocks), commercial offices, and healthcare projects, with project values typically ranging from £100k to £3.5m. Alongside the projects arm, the company also operates a successful service and maintenance division, providing long-term stability and repeat business opportunities.Your new role You will join the business as a Mechanical Estimator, with the role open to candidates at either Intermediate or Senior level, depending on experience.You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a variety of mechanical building services packages including HVAC, pipework, and plumbing systems.
